Oprah had Peter Walsh on recently discussing a variety of ways to de-clutter your life. One great suggestion was to take photos of you kids artwork and publish it in a photo book. SnapFish partnered with Oprah to provide a free photo book to all who respond by 11:59 p.m. PST Sunday, November 16, 2008.

Photo labs
2. June 2008 by admin.
Looks like James Duncan Davidson is using mpix when folks order prints from his online gallery. I’ve worked with digibug and PE photo myself and both were adequate. I’m wondering if anyone has had a great experience with a photo lab.

PS Express Review

The bottom line:
The bottom line: Though there’s a lot to like about Adobe’s first stab at online photo editing and sharing, you probably want to wait until the company fixes a few problems with the beta–and de-fangs its terms of service–before uploading scads of photos to Adobe Photoshop Express.

bulk print scanning
4. May 2008 by admin.
I’ve noticed a variety of prices and resolution options when it comes to photo print scanning in bulk. I have a variety of prints that need to be digitized: wallet, 3×5, 4×6, 5×7 and even a few 8×10 and 11×17.
The difficult part is knowing who to choose. Would it benefit me to pay more or should I save my pennies and find the least expensive option?
Google found the following when I searched bulk photo scanning:
- ask.metafilter.com (thread discussion)
- www.phototakers.com (another thread)
- www.easyphotogifts.com/scanning.html ($.19 scans, nice)
Then a european company. I’m not sending my photos overseas. That’s for sure. Seems the last bullet is the same as www.Photaza.com/scanning.html

“Magic” filters
16. April 2008 by admin.
Nice introduction to filters for digital cameras from Photaza. I haven’t used any of the so called magical filters. In fact, I’m still in transition from being more of a post-production person to taking great shots in the beginning. “magic” filters are next on my list to try.

Epson’s Stylus Photo R1900
16. April 2008 by admin.
It’s here!
and the photos from it are amazing. Printerville has a great review of the printer which is being talked about as the ultimate archival printer for glossy media. I can’t wait to try one.

Never satisfied with my point & shoot
30. March 2008 by admin.
I always seem to feel malcontent when it comes to my $100 or so point and shoot camera. For some reason the images captured with it seem to get less and less acceptable. BUT, should I jump to the Digital SLR level? Well, to answer this question I used the Which is Right For You? comparison post on photaza.com to help me with this decision.

Although I love the compact size of my point and shoot, I think I’m going to make the jump to the higher quality digital SLR. Maybe a Nikon D80???
