Never satisfied with my point & shoot

I always seem to feel malcontent when it comes to my $100 or so point and shoot camera. For some reason the images captured with it seem to get less and less acceptable. BUT, should I jump to the Digital SLR level? Well, to answer this question I used the [1] Which is Right For You? comparison post on photaza.com to help me with this decision.
Although I love the compact size of my point and shoot, I think I’m going to make the jump to the higher quality digital SLR. Maybe a Nikon D80???
